Challenge:

As a thought leader in its industry, Mirakl wanted to shed light on how marketplaces influence global industries in the ever-changing realm of e-commerce. One way to do this was to produce its own research. “There is no other research report like our ‘State of Online Marketplace Adoption’ report in the market,” said Sara Matasci, Mirakl’s Director of Corporate Marketing. “Most data that’s available focuses only on the U.S. market.”

To deliver the research successfully, Mirakl needed to accomplish the following:

  • Represent the research data in a visually compelling way.
  • Translate the research report, social graphics, PowerPoint slides, and other supporting
  • campaign materials into nine languages.
  • Represent locally specific data within each translated report for the nine countries.
  • Establish “launch kits” that allow Mirakl global team members to create localized landing
  • pages, email campaigns, and slide presentations.

Success:

Mirakl partnered with DC&Co to deliver the data in an engaging visual way locally and globally — As Sara Matasci describes, “DC&Co worked closely with us to create a hybrid global and local design kit that we could use in each of the nine countries surveyed. This included nine separate reports — each with its custom executive summary, visualizations, and in some cases, translated content — and ‘launch kits’ to build an individualized landing page, email campaign, and slide presentations for each report.” DC&Co helped coordinate the design approach to bring consistency to all materials and ensure all visual designs aligned with the brand guidelines globally. As Sara Matasci explains, “DC&Co coordinated with us to ensure that we had a strong, standard, consistent design aligned with our brand guidelines while still providing us the visual appeal and interest we needed to promote this research effectively.”

As a result, Mirakl, with the help of the DC&Co team, launched The State of Online Marketplace Adoption in nine countries. “The report has been downloaded hundreds of times. The visualizations created from each report are used in global sales and events presentations.”
